Gong Xi Fatt Choy is the most common spelling in Malaysia I think,

The funny thing is that "Gong Xi" is based on Mandarin, and "Fatt Choy" is based on Cantonese pronunciation.

but of course you will often see/hear "Gong Xi Fatt Cai", which is all Mandarin,
or "Gong Hay Fatt Choy" which is all Cantonese.

I actually never heard Gong Xi Fatt Choy before until YH used it in his emails.

I thought the most common spelling in Malaysia is Gong Xi Fa Cai (all Mandarin) ?

At least that's what I've always seen ever since I can remember, until I came here and saw people spelling it in Cantonese.

haha. actually YoongWearn was right,,,it may be a VERY Petaling Jaya or KL thing...cause only here do we really use a lot of Cantonese. Ipoh probably too.

a zillion ways to say one phrase, how wonderful (and rojak-ie) Malaysian Chinese language is.
