Obama and his family's secret!

Today is President Obama's inauguration day! He is now officially the president of the world! I am just kidding! I meant the United States of America. Because of that, I think we should get to know this country's president a bit better. And guess what I found out from Matt about his family. His brother in law was born to Chinese Malaysian parents!!! Let me repeat: Chinese Malaysian parents! He, however, was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. So, not totally Malaysian la. But, I thought it is really nice to see the word Malaysia on Wikipedia in Obama's Family section.

Here's what you can see on wikipedia:
Konrad NgBrother-in-law of Barack Obama, born 1974. A Canadian whose parents are Malaysian Chinese immigrants, he is an assistant professor at the University of Hawaii's Academy of Creative Media. His parents are from Kudat and Sandakan, two small towns in Sabah, Malaysia, and he was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario. He married Maya Soetoro-Ng at the end of 2003 in Hawaii. They have one daughter, Suhaila.

That's all I want to say. Happy Obama day!!

PS: I wonder why he named his daughter Suhaila. Any thoughts?

Most probably because his wife, Maya's father/Barack's stepfather is an Indonesian. So,Suhaila is kind like an Indonesian name (but I feel like it is more Malaysian though!) Ntah hape2 jelah aku nih merepek..

Yeah Suhaila should be an Arabic name, like most Malay names.

Anyway, yeah Maya Soetoro-Ng is Barack's half-sister, born to his mom and his stepdad, an Indonesian. I kind of figured she must've married a Chinese from Malaysia or Singapore, because of the surname "Ng"! I was right!
